What should I pay attention to when raising broilers in winter?

1. Timely ventilation

In winter, the temperature is very cold, and the temperature required by the chicken house is very different from the outside temperature. It is necessary to do a good job of ventilation and heat preservation. When ventilating, it is necessary to pay attention not to fluctuate the temperature in the storage house. To prevent excessive temperature difference from causing stress and disease, the vent should be 1.5 meters higher than the chicken back. When the working temperature drops sharply, the insulation work cannot keep up, which often causes broiler chickens to feel cold, coughing, sneezing, and breathing difficulties. Therefore, breeders must do a good job in temperature changes, cold protection and heat preservation, and to prevent thieves and draughts from attacking the chickens.
Second, prevent ammonia accumulation
In winter, the temperature is very cold. In addition to heat preservation work, it is also necessary to promptly remove the flock's excrement and damp litter. If it is not cleaned in time, it will cause the accumulation of ammonia in the chicken house and increase its concentration, which may lead to ammonia poisoning or cause broilers disease. Moreover, because of the accumulation of ammonia and the relative lack of oxygen, coupled with the severe cold weather, chickens have a fast metabolism, and ascites disease is very easy for broilers that grow too fast. Therefore, farmers should lay more than 5 cm of litter to prevent the sink from leaking and wetting the litter. If the humidity is too high, remove the feces and damp litter in time, or use ammonia-absorbent deodorant to reduce the ammonia concentration in the chicken house.
3. Reasonable feeding
According to the different growth stages of broilers, rations should be configured according to feeding standards. Because the temperature in winter is low, broilers consume more calories, and the humidity of medicines improves the metabolic energy standard of feed, while appropriately reducing the protein ratio and meeting the demand for vitamins. The feed should be prepared on-the-fly to prevent freezing. If possible, it can be fed after heating. The configured feed must be free of mildew and impurities to prevent respiratory diseases.
Four, feeding management
During the breeding process, it is necessary to disinfect regularly to prevent the spread of diseases, insist on disinfection with chickens, eliminate rodents, isolate and treat sick chickens from healthy chickens after they become ill, and deep bury dead chickens. Minimize the necessary stress factors during the breeding process, and take all feasible means to allow the chickens to eat to ensure the body's energy needs and enhance the chicken's disease resistance.
