Precautions for raising chickens in rainy days

For large-scale house-fed chickens, rainy days are easy to manage. But for free-range chickens, there are certain difficulties, so it is necessary to build a simple chicken coop, which is convenient for the chickens to have a shelter from the rain when it rains. In addition, whether it is free-range chickens or house-fed chickens, you should pay attention to the following points when it is raining, which can help the healthy growth of the chickens and avoid the occurrence of diseases.

1. Build a simple chicken coop: Build a simple chicken coop in the breeding site to allow the chickens to roost, and at the same time set up some brackets in the chicken coop to prevent the chickens from resting on the wet ground.
2. Ensure drinking and eating: Provide sufficient drinking water and feed for the chickens to prevent the chickens from drinking dirty water on the ground due to insufficient food and drinking water.

Chickens are afraid of humidity and like to live in a dry environment. In the rainy season, due to high air humidity and low ventilation, it is more likely to cause mildew in feed and litter, which is beneficial to the reproduction of a variety of pathogenic bacteria and makes chickens sick. Therefore, feeding and management must be particularly meticulous. Generally speaking, the following points must be noted:
1. Replace the litter in time and cause long-term dampness due to continuous rainy days. The litter in the chicken house is damp and moldy, which can easily induce the chickens to suffer from aspergillosis.
2. In rainy days, the humidity in the chicken house is high, and the air is dirty. It is necessary to strengthen ventilation, and use exhaust fans to exhaust the dirty and harmful gases and saturated water vapor in the chicken house in time.
3. Feed less frequently, try to eat the feed that is fed at the same time, so as not to leave the feed in the trough and be contaminated by mud and rain. The leftover material should be removed in time to ensure cleanliness and prevent "disease". Import from the mouth".
4. Control the amount of drinking water successively. Because the humidity in the chicken house is too high, it is easy to inhibit the water metabolism of the chicken body. If the amount of drinking water is too large, it is easy to cause enteritis, and the chicken flock is sparse, and then the humidity in the chicken house is continuously increased. Spread the disease. Therefore, in the rainy season, the chicken's drinking water should be properly controlled, and the rainwater that has accumulated on the sports field should be discharged in time to prevent the chickens from getting infected after drinking dirty water.
5. Do a good job of disinfection. In rainy weather, a variety of germs and viruses can easily breed and multiply in a humid environment, so it is necessary to strengthen the disinfection and sterilization work. Generally, we do not use spray disinfection in humid weather, because it will increase the humidity in the chicken house. The correct way is to sprinkle some ash or quicklime on the ground, and then put a clean bedding on it.
6. The focus of chicken disease prevention and control is enteritis, coccidiosis, aspergillosis and stress disease. The methods are: adding multivitamins in the feed appropriately can enhance the chicken's resistance to diseases and improve the chicken's anti-stress ability. Anti-coccidial drugs are often added to the diet to prevent intestinal parasitic diseases, but it is generally not appropriate to take the same drug for more than five or six days. Adding 0.04% of copper sulfate to drinking water can prevent and treat mildew.
